On Sept 26, 2023, Dr. Alexei Ouriadov was invited by Ultrasensitive Magnetic Resonance Group to give an academic report entitled " Hyperpolarized 129Xe MRl: Current Status and Future Directions " at the 1819 conference room of the Spectrum Building. The report was chaired by Professor Xin Zhou.

Dr. Alexei Ouriadov's main research interests are the development of the image acquisition, reconstruction, and processing methods based on 129Xe MRI and validation of these methods based on well-established PET imaging modalities, as well as the design of RF coils.

In the report, Dr. Alexei Ouriadov explained the application of hyperpolarized 129Xe MRI in the diagnosis and treatment of lung diseases, the principle of 129Xe radiofrequency coils and polarization devices, as well as the future development prospects. Combined with the relevant experimental content and research results in recent years, Dr. Alexei Ouriadov introduced in detail the application of 129Xe MRI in the diagnosis and treatment of COPD, neocoronary arthritis and other diseases and the measurement of lung morphology, and talked about the possibilities of using 129Xe MRI for brain imaging, and the prospects of deep learning-based lung image segmentation.

After the presentation, Dr. Alexei Ouriadov visited the 3T and 9.4T MRI laboratories. During the visit, he had in-depth discussions and exchanges with the faculty and students of our institute.
