On October 17, Professor Xiaoyuan Chen from the National Institutes of Health Biomedical Imaging and Medical Engineering (NIBIB) was invited by the Institute of Precision Measurement Science and Technology Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as the Precision Measurement Institute) as the "Wang Tianjuan" Forty-three speakers, to make a report entitled "Magnetic Nanoparticle-Based Cancer Theranostics". Zhou Xin, deputy dean of the Precision Measurement Institute, gave a welcome speech and presented the letter of appointment and medals to Professor Xiaoyuan Chen, which is the "International Distinguished Scholar" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the "Professor of Wang Tianjuan's Lecture." More than 30 teachers and students, including Professor Deng Feng, and other students, listened to the report. The report was hosted by Zhou Xin.

Professor Xiaoyuan Chen is a senior researcher at the National Institutes of Health's Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Medical Engineering (NIBIB). He is currently the director of the Molecular Imaging and Nanomedical Laboratory and a renowned scientist in molecular imaging and nanomedicine. In 2012, he won the NIBIB Mentor Award. In 2014, he won the NIH Director's Award. In 2016, he won the ACS Bioconjugate Chemistry Lecturer Award. In 2017, he was elected AIMBE Fellow. In 2019, he won the SNMMI Michael J. Welch Award.

At the report, Professor Xiaoyuan Chen systematically introduced magnetic resonance contrast agents, and explained the different types of magnetic resonance molecular probes, such as molecular probes with different effects of T1 relaxation and T2 relaxation, from the principle of magnetic resonance. Combining different components, changing different configurations, solving the problems which is current magnetic resonance contrast agents faced, and applying different materials to related fields. Taking iron oxide as the center and diverging to conduct in-depth study of magnetic resonance contrast agents, and continuing to dig deeper in combination with the actual situation, teachers and students have seen a lot of excellent work done by Professor Xiaoyuan Chen's research group. Professor Zhou Xin, deputy dean of Zhou Xin and researcher Deng Feng, has taken heated discussions on how to improve the sensitivity of magnetic resonance contrast agents, reduce the toxicity of contrast agents, and improve the practical application to clinical practice.

After the meeting, Professor Xiaoyuan Chen visited the Wuhan Magnetic Resonance Center and the 1.5T Human Lung Magnetic Resonance Imaging Laboratory. Vice President Zhou Xin introduced the instrument composition of the Wuhan Magnetic Resonance Center and the operation principle of the 1.5T human lung magnetic resonance imager. Professor Chen Xiaoyuan said that the magnetic resonance equipment of the Wuhan Magnetic Resonance Center is a giant in the world, and highly praised the research on the spectrum of our institute.
