On April 17, 2019, the Academic report "Advanced MRI and Contrast Agents for Clinical Application" hosted by Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics (WIPM) was held in Room 1817, Building M. Many domestic and foreign experts working in magnetic resonance was invited to attend this meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, assistant professor Kai Ruppert from University of Pennsylvania introduced the development of 129Xe dissolved-phase imagine, especially their work in dynamic 129Xe dissolved-phase imagine. Next, Professor Daishun Ling from Zhejiang University introduced the development and challenges of nanomedicine. Furthermore, combined with the research direction of his research group, Professor Ling introduced the dependence between functional requirements and structure of dynamic allosteric visualization nano-medicine in detail, as well as the prospect of magnetic nano-medicine in medical imaging application. Then, Professor Haiming Fan from northwestern university introduced nanometer ferrite spin orderly regulation and its magnetic resonance imaging applications. What’s more, he introduced the research background and the latest research progress of FVIO-labeled single-cell MRI, interfacial enhanced MR relaxivity and ultra-small ferrite as T1 contrast agent. Finally, associate professor Janmiao Wang form Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, from viewport of a clinical doctor, introduced the characters of COPD which include the epidemic characters, etiology and pathogenesis, clinical feature and current problem in diagnose.

This report mainly aimed at the current development of hyperpolarized MRI and contrast agents, and will promote the research of hyperpolarized MRI and molecular imaging in our institute significantly.
