On May 15th, 2016,“Hyperpolarized MRI and Molecular Imaging Symposium” was held on the first floor of the atomic frequency standard building. Many domestic and foreign experts working in magnetic resonance attended the meeting. The Symposium was hosted by Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Key Laboratory of Biological Magnetic Resonance, State Key Laboratory of Magnetic Resonance and Atomic and Molecular Physics, Wuhan Center for Magnetic Resonance.

In the meeting, Professor Leif Schroeder introduced the current development of 129Xe biosensors of their group, which mainly focused on four 129Xe molecular probe models; Professor Thomas Meersmann introduced a new gas 83Kr for hyperpolarization as MRI contrast agent; Professor Jiahong Gao showed the research of their Labon the diffusion MRI; Professor Liming Xia from Tongji Hospital and Professor Guangyao Wu from Zhongnan hospital talked about the current research progress of human lung MRI, and the establishment and application of human lung COPD. Finally, Professor Xin Zhou showed the research in our institute on the hyperpolarized 129Xe lung MRI and molecular imaging.

This symposium mainly aimed at the current development of hyperpolarized MRI and molecular imaging, and will promote the research of hyperpolarized MRI and molecular imaging in our institute significantly.
