Xinhua: Chinese Academy of magnetic resonance imager
August 1st, at WUHAN INSTITUTE OF PHYSICS AND MATHEMATICS, CAS laboratory, professor Xin Zhou and his group member were studying the first picture obtained for invivo small animal lung MRI image of China. The research team lead by Xin Zhou is currently the only group in China researching hyperpolarized gas lung MRI Their aim is "lightening the lung". Not only to obtain the structural information like currently chest x-ray, CT and PET, but also the research in visualization of lung gas exchange function, so as to develop the research in pre-diagnosis of human lung critical diseases. Currently, the team has successfully obtained the first invivo small animal lung MRI image in China, it is expected that clinical research will begin in about 4 years.
