The NSFC gave an on-site inspection for the program of "the development of human lung NMR imaging system for lung major diseases research"

     On September 1st, an on-site inspection for the national major program of scientific instrument and equipment--"the development of human lung NMR imaging system for lung major diseases research"that is funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) was held at the Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics (WIPM).

     Academician Shen Yan, The deputy director of NSFC, academician Wang Hongyang, the director of department of health sciences of NSFC, professor Xianping Meng, the director-general of planning bureau of NSFC, professor Dong Erdan, the executive deputy director of department of health sciences of NSFC, professor Li Enzhong, the director of Medical disciplines of the department of health sciences of NSFC, Cao Ning, the deputy director of finance bureau of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Huang Min, the bureau deputy director of the basic science bureau of CAS, and some other officers attended the meeting. The delegation composed of Professor Gu Ning and the other twelve experts attended the inspection. Academician Chaohui Ye, Maili Liu, the director of WIPM, Mingsheng Zhan, the party secretary of WIPM, the principal of relevant management department and the principle members of the program took part in the meeting.

     In the morning of September 1st, Professor Zhou Xin, the project leader, made a report to the delegation including the meaning, the design idea, research contents and scheme, research basis and budget of the program. Subsequently, the delegation field trips the State Key Laboratory of Magnetic Resonance and Atomic and Molecular Physics, Wuhan Magnetic Resonance Center and other related research condition what the program based on and the Progress of Preliminary Works. The group also visited the WIPM's showroom about the development of the magnetic resonance instrument with interest.

    The officers and experts attended the meeting believe that the program of "the development of human lung NMR imaging system for lung major diseases research" accord with the requirement of national major program of scientific instrument and equipment, significant, innovative and the experienced team members and the superior research foundation and conditions of the undertake units are able to ensure the smooth implementation of the program. Also they expressed satisfaction with WIPM for its support to the program.
